Nikki Traylor-Knowles is an Associate Professor in Marine Biology and Ecology at the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science. Her research focuses on the evolution of immunity, wound healing, and regeneration. Her lab uses cell biology, genomics, microbiology, and molecular biology techniques to study the cnidarian innate immune system and its interaction with climate change and other human-induced stressors. She is interested in the application of these techniques to conservation efforts through the development of biomarkers.
