Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber

Emergency Medical Care for Divers

The USC Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber is an emergency medical facility on Catalina Island for the treatment of scuba diving accidents. Chamber facilities are on the waterfront of the Wrigley Marine Science Center and adjacent to a helipad that is permitted for day or night helicopter landings. The chamber works closely with the Los Angeles County Medical Alert Center (MAC) and operates as an extension of the Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center Department of Emergency Medicine.

As part of the Wrigley Institute and its educational mission, chamber staff and volunteers also contribute regularly to education and training programs for scientific divers and hyperbaric medicine specialists.
