L.A. Climate Careers Spring Break
Get the inside scoop on your future!
Interested in a “green” career?
Our spring break program will take you on a tour of climate and sustainability careers around Los Angeles. We’ll introduce you to the people and organizations leading L.A.’s green job revolution as you explore the many professional paths you can take to help the planet. We’ll cap it all off with a relaxing overnight at the Wrigley Marine Science Center on Catalina Island.
Examples of 2023 companies: Los Angeles Zoo, The Energy Coalition, Community Services Unlimited, and an international entertainment company. Examples of 2023 panels: Climate Resilience & Green Infrastructure, Young USC Alumni in Sustainability, Ocean & Conservation Careers
This trip is open to all USC students, with preference given to students in the Environmental Studies Program.
Dates: Tuesday, March 12 through Friday, March 15, 2024
Fees: $100 (financial support available)
Trip Schedule:
- Tuesday/Wednesday: Meet climate professionals in-person and tour the companies where they work in Los Angeles. Possible industries include renewable energy, environmental justice and policy, green building, and more.
- Thursday/Friday: Wrap up with some fun in the sun, paired with career talks from conservation and marine science specialists. You’ll get to snorkel or kayak, hike, and tour WMSC labs, all while learning about Catalina’s unique ecology and the Wrigley Institute’s work to save the planet.
Application due: 11:59pm on Sunday, January 28th. Decisions released the week of January 28th.
